What's more, you may sign, send, review and save your documents to Nitro Cloud directly from the program, compare PDFs for identifying differences in images, text and annotations, review typed text using the spell checking feature, remove selections of text, images, annotations and form fields from PDF pages, print documents using batch processing, undo your actions, and activate the Measure tool for calculating the distance, area and perimeter for a set of points based on a custom scale. With Nitro Pro you can thus create new PDF files from any document format out there, add comments to PDFs, export text or the entire document, including photos, to another document format, insert images, links and pages into PDF files, secure files and add signatures, design forms and print them. To make sure that users will fully benefit from its very advanced features, developers have designed a help screen that pops out every time you open the interface, giving you the option to find more info on its tools with a single click. The interface is more than pleasant and reminds us of the popular Microsoft Office suite, adopting the same Ribbon GUI interface we've seen in the office suite developed by Microsoft. Nitro limits you to this function and makes it additional steps to inserting.Nitro Pro is one of the most advanced PDF creating and editing software solutions, providing basically all the tools you would ever need to help you in this regard.Īlthough it's called 'Professional,' the application has been developed to be aimed at beginners and advanced users alike, so you won't find it too difficult to use. What i was mainly trying to describe though was how in Acrobat each PDF you can view pages, and freely drag them between multiple PDFs open. That'll actually be helpful going forward, so thanks for that Sean (Nitro)! Happy to to help!Īh that i actually did not know. Send me a message on Spiceworks if you have any other questions about Nitro. Standardizing with Nitro Pro and Cloud, and equipping your select power users with Acrobat Pro is a great strategy to increase document productivity. They simply need access to easy to use tools to help them create, prepare, and sign documents in order to be more self-sufficient. A majority of users simply don't need the rich features that Acrobat offers. I think the way you have your users setup is a really cost-effective solution. (2) You can open 2 PDF files side-by-side today within Nitro Pro, here's a quick link to show you how to access the Vertical Tab Group in the application (2 easy steps!): This is particularly helpful for those who are working a lot with forms and need to have an interactive form open in one window and a reference document open in another. (1) Some users like tabbed PDF viewing that mirrors the experience in your everyday web-browser, but indeed some users really like to have "multiple instances." Nitro offers this as an option for Enterprise customers so you can customize the experience to meed the needs of your end users. One quick point to clear up that you listed in the CONS section regarding viewing multiple PDF files side by side: Thanks for such a thoughtful post Cody, so glad to hear that Nitro has been working out for your users so far! There is a bit of a learning curve from going to Nitro when swapping from Acrobat (not really a con just a note). You must instead "Insert page x from A" into PDF B. So you cannot drag 1 page from PDF A - onto PDF B order. Cannot display multiple PDFs at the same time, uses tabs rather than side by side comparison like Acrobat. No Ruler function! Only grid lines that can be changed to mm, cm, inch. Support and community forums seem lively and well so far. Whiteout, PDF Convert to Word, Excel, ETC. OCR is actually i feel pretty accurate and using it is a quick process. The ribbon bar is great, and all the available tools are readily available from tabs. So while we have about 80% on Nitro, 19% on Acrobat Standard, and 1% who are stubborn and refuse to let go of Acrobat Pro. However, some still prefer Acrobat Standard over Nitro for a few reasons (i'll list them later). We quickly found that users that needed some of the Acrobat Pro functions only used about 1/8th of the actual features from Acrobat, and thus saw an opportunity to swap them to Nitro Pro (Whiteout function anyone?). Here it really depends on the functions and features that you use the most, as well as the features you need.
